⚡Locum Trauma /Surgery –Nurse Practitioner - Inpatient & ED Coverage | Level I Center | Robbinsdale, MN

Location: Minnesota (local candidates preferred; mileage reimbursed)
Setting: Level I Adult & Pediatric Trauma Center
EMR: EPIC

Seeking an experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) for a locum assignment in a Level I trauma center. This role provides autonomous hospitalist coverage with the support of a 24/7 trauma surgeon team.

🌟 Key Responsibilities

• Serve as trauma hospitalist rounder for admitted patients

• Respond to ED trauma alerts and facilitate admissions

• Manage daily rounding and all patient conditions (adult/adolescent)

• Facilitate discharges and coordinate care

• Intermittent ED consults, trauma activations, and procedural work as needed

• Procedures may include:

  • Non-invasive ventilator management (BiPAP/CPAP)

  • Ventilation management

  • Chest tube insertion

  • Central and arterial lines

  • Minor laceration suturing

Patient Volume:

• Non-ICU: 10–14 admitted patients/day

• ICU: ~6 patients/day

• ED/Admissions: 2–15 per 24 hours

Call: None; in-house coverage only

🩺 Qualifications & Requirements

• Acute Care NP (ACNP) or PA-C – Board Certified (no FNPs)

• Minnesota license required at time of name clear

• Minimum 1-year inpatient APP experience (trauma, ICU, and/or orthopedics preferred)

• ACLS, ATLS, PALS certifications

• DEA license (verbal confirmation at name clear)

• NPDB Self-Query within the same month of submission
