Position Details:

Patient Population: Adult cardiothoracic and cardiovascular surgery patients
Setting: Hospital (Cardiac Surgery, ICU/CVICU, OR, Clinic)

Responsibilities:

• Provide advanced clinical care for cardiothoracic surgery patients
• Assist in cardiac surgeries including first assist and endoscopic vein harvesting
• Manage ICU/CVICU, floor, and clinic patients
• Conduct rounding, evaluations, and follow-up care
• Participate in 2 full clinic days weekly
• Rotate through OR coverage Monday–Friday
• Order/interpret diagnostics and labs
• Develop care plans and prescribe medications
• Perform bedside procedures
• Maintain timely documentation
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary cardiac surgery team

Required Procedures:

• Endoscopic vein harvesting
• First assisting in cardiac surgery
• Bedside procedures appropriate to cardiothoracic population

Support Staff: Cardiac surgeons, physicians, intensivists, multidisciplinary care team

Days Per Month: Full-time schedule
On-Call/Weekends:

• 1:4–5 weekday call
• 1:4–5 weekend call
• In-house NP covers 8:30pm–6:30am

Submission Requirements:

• Graduate of accredited NP program (Master’s degree)
• ANCC or AANPCB certification
• Minimum 3+ years cardiac/cardiovascular surgery experience with ICU management
• Experience with endoscopic vein harvesting and first assisting
• Active Colorado license
• DEA
• BLS (AHA or ARC)
• Full prescriptive authority
• NPDB self-query (within 30 days)
• No sanctions/exclusions
• COVID vaccination
• Permanent placement fee $18K noted in submission
