Locums NP/PA Cardiothoracic Surgery Needed in Washington

Coverage Needed

• Start Date: ASAP
• End Date: Ongoing
• Schedule: M-F, 0700-1500 (variable hours), 3-4 days calls & 1:4 weekend call
  • Call: 24-hour pager, 10-12+ hours on call days, 6-8+ hours per weekend day
  • Full time coverage

Clinical Details

• Inpatient setting
• General Duties:
  • Assist with pre- and post-operative patient evaluation and treatment (inpatients and outpatients)
  • OR first assist for coronary artery bypass, valve surgeries, aortic and aortic arch reconstruction
  • Robotic assisted thoracic surgeries, VATS, DaVinci Robot Thoracic Procedures, minimally invasive valves
  • Thoracic and fore-gut procedures
  • Endoscopic vein harvest and open radial artery harvest
  • ICU & step-down management; daily rounds and discharge summaries
  • Emergent procedures as required (e.g., chest tube and arterial line insertions)
  • Evening, night, and weekend surgeries; weekend patient rounds
  • Walk-in/urgent clinic visits and clinic wound checks as needed
• Cases: 6-8 hearts/week, 9-12 thoracic/week
• EMR: EPIC
• Support Staff: RN, 5 permanent surgeons on staff (3 cardiac, 2 thoracic), 4 mid-levels (3 PA, 1 NP, and 1 in training)
• 20 patients per day (Adult)
• Only willing to train locum looking to transition to perm
• Robotic assisted thoracic surgeries (90% of thoracic cases are robotics)

Requirements

• Board Certification: Required
• State License: WA highly preferred, will consider IMLC
• Residency/Fellowship: 3 years of CV/CT surgery experience required
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, DEA required
• Malpractice: Clean record required
• Self-Query NPDB report (within 30 days)
