Locums NP/PA Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic Surgery Need in Indiana

Coverage Needed:

• Start Date: 2026-03-18
• End Date: Ongoing
• Schedule: Mon-Thur Onsite Coverage (7am-4:30pm), On-call starts at 4:30pm
  • Fri Onsite Day Coverage (7am-5pm), On-call starts at 5pm
  • Call: ICU call 1-2 nights a week, weekend call from Saturday 7am to Monday 6:30am (Arrive 6am for rounding)
• Preferred schedule: 7 on/7 off

Clinical Details:

• Trauma Level: 2
• Patients per Day: 8-10 inpatient
• EMR: Cerner
• Support Staff: Rounding nurse available on weekends from 5am-5pm, who takes the first line phone calls and helps with orders
• Patient management for inpatients, ER consultations and transfers from other hospitals during the week and weekends, probably one night per week as well as the weekend if working a 7on/7off model
• Primarily Rounding + Medical Management (Calls) especially on weekends
• Daily rounding on all inpatients (ICU, stepdown) and new consults as well as discharging patients
• OR - EVH hemapro 2; help train new APPs on EVH; some open vein harvest may be needed with some fem-pop surgeries usually done in a bridging technique
• Sat/ Sun rounding on inpatients in the morning (a surgeon also helps with rounding in the morning), then call the rest of the day/night
• First assist on some cases once you learn surgeon's routines - there may be OR call for emergencies while on call for the weekend if needed
• Call: In-house for assigned patients with a 20 min response time required
  • Can go back to the hotel to take call and be available for Call Back to the hospital

Requirements:

• Licensed in IN or IMLC
• Board Certified
• ACLS, BLS certifications
• Fellowship required
• Cardiothoracic experience required
• PAs must know how to perform EVH ~ 500 case/10 yrs exp.
