Job Opportunity: Locum Nurse Practitioner - Surgery - Orthopedic in Coos Bay, OR

This exciting locum opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner in orthopedic surgery involves direct patient care, diagnostic procedures, and support for surgical operations. Key Responsibilities:

• Order and perform diagnostic studies including EMG, ECG, compartment pressure measurements, and x-rays (CT, MRI, bone scans).
• Carry out procedures such as digital blocks, regional anesthesia, and minor outpatient surgeries (tendon repair, wound management, needle biopsy, hardware removal).
• Administer diagnostic and therapeutic procedures (joint and bursa aspirations, closed reduction of fractures, injections).
• Assist in surgeries, perform hospital rounds, and support the orthopedic surgeon throughout the process.
• Serve as the primary orthopedic call for emergency and inpatient units, participating in weekend and night call coverage.
• Evaluate clinical conditions, create treatment plans for hospitalized patients, and prepare discharge summaries.

Qualifications:

• Board Certified - Required
• Must be available full-time - Required
• Oregon License - Required
• Meet criteria for Medical Staff or Allied Health Professional membership and privileges
• NPDB Self query at the time of submission - Required
• CAQH login and password at the time of offer - Required
• Start date: ASAP - Required

License and Certification Requirements:

• Valid Oregon nursing license
• Current board certification in relevant specialty
