Locums – Lansing, Michigan, NP/PA Cardiovascular Surgery Job

Reason for Coverage

• Recent APP resignation

Schedule & Call

• 4-day, 10-hour workweek

• Call Schedule:

• 1 in 4 weeks on call

• 1 weekend per month required

Weekend Coverage:

Patient list typically 15–30

APP is solo on weekends

Patient Volume

• Average Patients per Day: ~15 (weekends tend to be higher)

Facility & Practice Setting

• Level I Trauma Center

• Cardiovascular Surgery Service (Cardiac & Vascular)

• APP team rounds and supports both cardiac and vascular surgery services

• This is a rounding-only position — NO OR responsibilities

Typical Patient Breakdown (Estimates)

• CVICU:

• Minimum 2–3 patients/day

• Can be as many as 8

CVSU:

2–5 patients/day

Includes discharge responsibilities

Vascular Patients:

4–10 patients between ICU and floors

Most are not primary service and are typically floor patients

EMR

• Epic

Candidate Requirements

• Board Certified APP – Required

• Active Michigan License or NLC – Preferred

• BLS & ACLS – Required

• Clean Malpractice & License History – Highly Preferred

• New Grads: Must be experienced – Required
