Join Our Team as a Locum Nurse Practitioner – Cardiovascular Surgery in Lansing, MI

Elevate your healthcare career by providing critical support to a leading cardiovascular surgery team at UMH Sparrow Lansing Hospital. This engaging locum opportunity ensures you play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care within a renowned Level 1 Trauma Center, all while enjoying a flexible schedule designed to balance professional fulfillment with personal life. Starting February 1, 2026, this position offers an excellent avenue to showcase your skills in a dynamic, supportive environment.

What You'll Do:

• Provide advanced nursing care to cardiac and vascular surgery patients, supporting both ICU and floor management.

• Conduct patient rounds, discharge planning, and follow-up, with no OR responsibilities.

• Manage an average of 15 patients daily, with higher volumes on weekends, in a high-acuity setting.

• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule from home, with 1 in 4 weeks on call and one weekend shift per month.

• Utilize Epic EMR for documentation within a collaborative team environment.

Required Skills:

• Valid Nurse Practitioner licensure in Michigan.

• Experience in cardiovascular or vascular patient care.

• Strong clinical assessment, decision-making, and documentation skills.

• Ability to work independently and efficiently during weekend shifts.

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Nice to Have Skills:

• Prior experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center.

• Certification in ACLS or BLS.

• Experience with Epic EMR or similar electronic health records systems.

• Ability to handle high patient volumes and emergency situations.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) or higher.

• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in cardiovascular or surgical nursing.

• Proven capacity to adapt swiftly to fast-paced hospital environments.

Other Requirements:

• Availability to start on February 1, 2026.

• Willingness to travel, with travel reimbursements provided.

• Valid state licensure and certifications required.

• Continuous compliance with hospital protocols and state regulations.
