Locum Nurse Practitioner - Cardiovascular Surgery

Join the dedicated team at UMH Sparrow Lansing Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center located in the vibrant Lansing, Michigan. We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner) to support our Cardiovascular Surgery team. This opportunity features a 4-day, 10-hour workweek with a balanced on-call schedule of 1 in 4 weeks, including one weekend shift per month. This is an ideal position for candidates looking to immerse themselves in a collaborative environment following the recent resignation of an APP.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and support for the cardiovascular surgery team.
• Manage daily patient rounds in the CVICU and vascular units.
• Handle a patient load averaging around 15 patients per day, ensuring timely and accurate care delivery.
• Respond to on-call duties as scheduled and provide weekend coverage as required.
• Document patient interactions and clinical information using the Epic EMR system.

Qualifications

• Board Certified Advanced Practice Provider.
• Experience in cardiovascular surgery or related fields.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.

License and Certification Requirements

• Active Michigan State Medical License (required at time of name clear).
• BLS & ACLS certifications (required).
• Clean malpractice and license history (highly preferred).
• NPDB self-query copy required (must be pulled within 30 days).
