Physician Assistant - Cardiovascular and Cardiothoracic Surgery / Nurse Practitioner - Cardiovascular

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner specializing in Cardiovascular and Cardiothoracic Surgery. This vital role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality patient care in a challenging and rewarding environment. You will support surgical teams through hospital first assisting, manage outpatient clinics, and participate in critical patient roundings, making a tangible difference in patients' lives.

Required Skills:
  • Valid state licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
  • Prior experience in cardiovascular or cardiothoracic surgery settings
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to manage hospital-based first assisting and outpatient care effectively
  • Flexible scheduling to accommodate call responsibilities

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Prior experience with inpatient rounding and surgical first assisting
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems
  • Additional training or certifications in cardiovascular care

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies or Nurse Practitioner Program
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiovascular or thoracic surgical environments
  • Experience participating in surgical first assist roles and patient rounding

Other Requirements:
  • Availability for 7-8 days of call per month, including weekend and evening responsibilities
  • Willingness to work both hospital and clinic hours as scheduled
  • OT pay applicable after 40 clinical hours per week
  • Must adhere to all hospital, state, and federal licensure and certification requirements

Compensation:
  • Hourly Pay Rate: $1.00
