Join Our Team as a Locum Nurse Practitioner in Cardiothoracic Surgery—Make a Difference in Toledo, OH
Are you a dedicated Nurse Practitioner seeking an impactful locum opportunity in a prestigious cardiothoracic surgical setting? We are seeking a highly skilled professional to provide exceptional care at a Level 1 Trauma Center, supporting high-quality patient outcomes through expert clinical skills and autonomous practice. This position offers an excellent chance to contribute to a top-tier healthcare environment while enjoying flexible scheduling and competitive compensation.
In this vital role, you will deliver comprehensive perioperative and inpatient care across multiple Mercy Health locations, including Mercy St. Vincent, Mercy St. Anne, Mercy St. Charles, and Mercy Perrysburg—all under a single privileges scope. You will be responsible for pre- and post-op assessments, diagnosing and treating illnesses, ordering and interpreting tests, performing sutures removal, and facilitating coordination of care, primarily focusing on adult and geriatric patients. The schedule includes working Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with ten days of coverage per month, including some weekends, along with a call ratio of 1:3. This autonomous role ensures you will work independently while having physician support available 24/7 for consultation and rounding.
Candidates must possess excellent clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple high-acuity patients efficiently. Experience in surgical, ICU, or post-op care is preferred, and familiarity with EPIC EMR is desired. A current Nurse Practitioner license, board certification, and the ability to obtain privileges at all listed locations are essential.
Additional beneficial skills include experience in trauma settings, familiarity with post-operative management, and proficiency in suturing. Preferred candidates will have previous inpatient or surgical experience and a strong understanding of adult and geriatric patient care.
Requirements include current licensure and certification, the ability to pass credentialing within 60-90 days, and willingness to travel to various facility locations within the Toledo area. Eligible candidates will receive support for licensure, certification, travel, and other reimbursable expenses.
This position offers a competitive hourly pay rate, weekly direct deposit pay schedule, comprehensive medical benefits, and participation in a robust referral bonus program. All applicants will benefit from dedicated support from our experienced team committed to your professional success.
