Job Opportunity: Nurse Practitioner - Surgery - Cardiothoracic

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to become a vital member of our innovative cardiac surgery team. With a commitment to world-class cardiothoracic care, you will provide advanced clinical services within a supportive, patient-centered environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide advanced clinical care for cardiothoracic surgery patients with a focus on compassionate care.
• Assist in cardiac surgeries, including performing endoscopic vein harvesting and first assisting as needed.
• Manage ICU and cardiovascular surgical patient care, including rounding and evaluations.
• Participate in two full-day clinics weekly and see additional patients as required.
• Rotate through operating room coverage Monday through Friday.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Develop and implement care plans based on patient outcomes.
• Order medications and write prescriptions adhering to regulatory policies.
• Perform bedside procedures appropriate to the patient population.
• Document all care delivered in a timely and high-quality manner.
• Exhibit expert clinical judgment and function independently under physician supervision.
• Maintain continuing medical education to meet state and national requirements.
• Adapt and thrive in a high-stress, dynamic clinical setting.
• Demonstrate flexibility, teamwork, problem-solving skills, and a positive cultural fit.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a Master’s degree in Nursing.
• Nurse Practitioner Certification by ANCC or AANPCB.
• A minimum of 3+ years of cardiac or cardiovascular surgery experience with ICU management or endoscopic vein harvesting.
• Unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license to prescribe medications.
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• No current or prior sanctions or exclusions from relevant agencies.

License and Certification Requirements:

• Current COVID vaccination.
• Unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
