- Seeking an experienced, compassionate Nurse Practitioner with expertise in cardiac or cardiovascular surgery and ICU patient management to join their full-time, patient-centered cardiothoracic surgery team.
- The position emphasizes advanced surgical care, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and a commitment to delivering world-class patient outcomes.
Job Responsibilities
Assist in cardiac surgeries, including endoscopic vein harvesting and first assisting.
Participate in 2 full-day clinics weekly, with additional outpatient and OR coverage as needed.
Rotate through operating room coverage Monday–Friday and share call coverage.
Collaborate with surgeons, intensivists, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
Perform bedside procedures, order/interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans.
Document care delivery in compliance with hospital and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
NP Certification by ANCC or AANPCB – Required
Minimum 3+ years of cardiac/cardiovascular surgery experience with ICU patient management or vein harvesting/first assist – Required
Active DEA license and full prescriptive authority – Required
Unrestricted Colorado NP license and medical staff privileges – Required
BLS Certification (AHA or Red Cross) – Required
Eligible for Medicare/Medicaid provider status; no sanctions/exclusions – Required
Working Hours
Rotating weekend call coverage
1:4–5 weekday call and 1:4–5 weekend call (in-house NP covers 8:30 PM – 6:30 AM)
Skills
Endoscopic vein harvesting and first-assist surgical skills
Proficiency in bedside procedures and advanced clinical decision-making
Strong teamwork, adaptability, and problem-solving abilities
