The chosen candidate will play a vital role in providing comprehensive perioperative and postoperative care within a high-volume cardiovascular surgery program. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in complex cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including vein harvesting and surgical first assisting.
- Perform vein harvesting independently with demonstrated experience; RNFA certification required for NPs.
- Participate actively in preoperative assessments, perioperative management, and postoperative patient care.
- Conduct hospital rounds and coordinate interdisciplinary care with cardiology, interventional radiology, and ICU teams.
- Manage patient follow-ups in clinic, monitor recovery, and address postoperative concerns.
- Support use of advanced surgical systems including the da Vinci robotic surgical platform and Maquet EVH system.
- Provide coverage on a shared call basis (approximately 1 in 3) to ensure continuous patient care.
Qualifications:
- Master’s or Doctoral Degree as an NP or PA with certification in cardiothoracic surgery facilitation.
- Demonstrated vein harvesting experience and surgical first assisting skills.
- RNFA certification (required for NP candidates).
- Current state licensure and certifications pertinent to the NP or PA role.
- Prior experience working in a high-volume cardiovascular surgery setting preferred.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
