Job Summary:

• Nurse Practitioner must have completed a Master's degree from an accredited program, and have the ability to obtain or maintain an active Texas medical license and be in good standing.
• Clinic schedule is Monday - Friday, from 8 am - 5 pm, although a rare weekend may be requested to support as needed with plenty of advanced notice.
• The incoming NP would be primarily paired with a long standing, employed general surgeon, but would also be asked to help a colon and rectal surgeon on rare occasions.
• Duties include seeing pre-op patients for colonoscopies/EGDs, Post-Op Patients and wound care patients.
• Expected to see an additional 20 patients per week, these will be more established patients than new patients. Established patients are usually follow ups for GERD, results, etc.
• NP will be expected to call patients to follow up after surgeries, usually next day, and assist the surgeon with charts and fill in: ROS, Examination, Assessment and availability of records (colonoscopy report, pathology report, etc.).
• Refill prescriptions when needed.
• Review pre-op labs, imaging, pathology reports/results to pin point abnormalities and take necessary action.
• Create and sign patient prescription for colonoscopy procedure or send electronically during visit.
