Physician Assistant (PA-C) – Rheumatology - Sarasota, FL
The Physician Assistant (PA-C) will provide comprehensive care to patients with rheumatic and autoimmune conditions. This role involves evaluating patients, assisting in diagnosis, developing treatment plans, and managing ongoing care in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams. The PA-C will deliver patient-centered care focused on improving outcomes and quality of life.
Job Responsibilities
Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests such as laboratory studies, imaging, and other relevant procedures
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including prescribing medications, recommending therapies, and advising on lifestyle modifications
Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatment options, medication management, and self-care strategies
Monitor patient progress through follow-up visits and adjust treatment plans as clinically indicated
Collaborate closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate and optimize patient care
Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) system
Ensure compliance with all applicable healthcare regulations, policies, and clinical standards
Participate in clinical research initiatives and ongoing professional development as applicable
Qualifications
Current NCCPA certification
Active state licensure as a Physician Assistant (or eligibility for licensure)
Prior experience in rheumatology or a related specialty preferred
Demonstrated clinical experience in diagnosing and managing rheumatic or autoimmune diseases
