Job Description:

The Schmidt Chest Clinic at Intermountain Medical Center is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join an established team of pulmonologists and APP's to provide clinical assessment and care delivery in the area of pulmonary medicine. An ideal candidate for this position will have 1+ year(s) of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Internal Medicine or Family Practice experience.

This is a full time, fully benefits-eligible opportunity, and the APP will typically work four 10-hour shifts per week (M, T, Th, F), with no call obligation. This APP can expect to treat patients with asthma, COPD, Chronic Cough, chronic shortness of breath, pulmonary nodules, pulmonary infections, and other pulmonary conditions. There may be a change to subspecialize in the future if interested.

Job Essentials

Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) are accountable for the provision of patient care at the top of licensure, within their scope of practice. Licensed, credentialed and privileged to perform such duties as:

  • Maintenance and promotion of health and prevention of disease;
  • Assessment, diagnosis, treatment, correction, and consultation;
  • Procedures as outlined by specialty, and referral for health problems;
  • Education of the patient, patient's family, clinical staff, and others;
  • Prescription or administration of prescription drugs or devices in accordance with a consultation and referral plan;
  • Consultation with other healthcare providers;
  • Appropriate and timely documentation of clinical care;
  • Continually learning and developing for optimal patient care and outcomes.

Advanced Practice Providers may also participate in research, utilize evidence-based practice to improve quality patient care, protocol development, care process model development, and best practice standards for assigned patient population throughout our organization.
