We seek a Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant whose experience is focused on pulmonary care and treatment of patients with lung disease or respiratory conditions such as asthma, pneumonia, bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, emphysema, tuberculosis, and lung cancer. Under the guidance of a supervising physician, this practitioner will assist with comprehensive medical assessments, ordering appropriate tests/procedures for diagnostic purposes, establishing treatment plans, and obtaining specialists' consultations, as needed.

PULMONARY

This role encompasses patient evaluations relating to respiratory illnesses or disorders. Our ideal candidate has an in depth understanding of the respiratory system anatomy and physiology, keen assessment and monitoring skills, vast knowledge of pulmonary diseases and conditions, and is vigilant about ongoing education related to recommended respiratory treatment options.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Treatment of lungs and airways, COPD, pneumonia, pleurisy, asthma, occupational diseases, bronchitis, sleep disorders, emphysema, and other complex disorders of the lungs.
  • Order of appropriate diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests and/or interpretation of results.
  • Develop and implement patient management plans, record progress notes, and assist in provision of continuity of care.
  • Administration of therapeutic procedures, as needed.

ESSENTIAL ABILITIES

  • Ability to provide both telehealth and onsite visits to skilled nursing facilities.
  • Must be able to commit to work a minimum of 10 hours per week, between the hours of 7am-6pm Monday through Friday, 2 or more hours' time block each time
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with patients, family members, and other medical professionals.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in Nursing Licensure, Certification, and Registration
  • Current, valid Florida APRN license Certification through the ANCC, AANP (or equivalent certification body)
  • Current BLS required Medicare NPI #, 855I and 855r on file (Independent NP Medicare Provider Number/PTAN#)
  • Must be able to commit to work a minimum of 10 hours per week, between the hours of 9am-5pm Monday through Friday.(in 2 or more hours time block each time)
  • No weekends or evenings at this time.
  • Pulmonary-focused clinical experience (3+ years)
  • Geriatrics and telehealth experience are highly preferred.
