Duties

  • Provide outpatient psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and medication management
  • Utilize DSM-5-TR for assessment and treatment planning
  • Deliver care in both in-person and telehealth settings
  • Collaborate with patients to develop individualized, goal-oriented care plans
  • Practice within a trauma-informed, integrated behavioral health model
  • Coordinate care with community partners and emergency services when needed
  • Participate in limited after-hours on-call rotation (1–2 times per year)
  • Document care efficiently using electronic health records

Qualifications

  • Board-certified PMHNP with a strong desire to work with underserved populations and those facing significant barriers to care.
  • Mission-focused and passionate about improving access to quality mental healthcare.
  • Proactive and thrives in a fast-paced clinical setting.
  • Trauma-informed and competent in the provision of integrated behavioral healthcare.
  • Comfortable working independently with children and adolescents in a group setting while also seeking support and consultation from colleagues.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of DSM-5-TR and utilize initial interviews and screenings to provide diagnoses and care planning.
  • Collaborates with patients and effectively communicates clinical impressions while assessing strengths, barriers, and psychosocial needs.
  • Current, active license to practice as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the State of Texas, with a minimum of two years of relevant clinical experience.
  • Ability to interact and collaborate with community partners and emergency medical/psychiatric service providers to ensure patient safety if a patient needs a higher level of care.
  • Comfortable providing care in person and virtually

Working Hours
The position operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, in Harker Heights, Texas. A limited after-hours on-call rotation is required, typically occurring only once or twice per year. Additionally, there may be a potential opportunity to work from home.
