Duties
- Provide outpatient psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and medication management
- Utilize DSM-5-TR for assessment and treatment planning
- Deliver care in both in-person and telehealth settings
- Collaborate with patients to develop individualized, goal-oriented care plans
- Practice within a trauma-informed, integrated behavioral health model
- Coordinate care with community partners and emergency services when needed
- Participate in limited after-hours on-call rotation (1–2 times per year)
- Document care efficiently using electronic health records
Qualifications
- Board-certified PMHNP with a strong desire to work with underserved populations and those facing significant barriers to care.
- Mission-focused and passionate about improving access to quality mental healthcare.
- Proactive and thrives in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- Trauma-informed and competent in the provision of integrated behavioral healthcare.
- Comfortable working independently with children and adolescents in a group setting while also seeking support and consultation from colleagues.
- Possess extensive knowledge of DSM-5-TR and utilize initial interviews and screenings to provide diagnoses and care planning.
- Collaborates with patients and effectively communicates clinical impressions while assessing strengths, barriers, and psychosocial needs.
- Current, active license to practice as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the State of Texas, with a minimum of two years of relevant clinical experience.
- Ability to interact and collaborate with community partners and emergency medical/psychiatric service providers to ensure patient safety if a patient needs a higher level of care.
- Comfortable providing care in person and virtually
Working Hours
The position operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, in Harker Heights, Texas. A limited after-hours on-call rotation is required, typically occurring only once or twice per year. Additionally, there may be a potential opportunity to work from home.
