Job Overview – Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Compensation: $105/hour
Location: Bronx, NY
Schedule: Part-Time (3 Days/Week, 1 Evening Shift 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM)
TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in Bronx, NY for our client, supporting psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and behavioral health care in an outpatient setting. In this role, you will conduct psychiatric assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide ongoing medication management while collaborating with care teams. You will utilize EMR systems to ensure accurate, compliant, and patient-centered care. An active New York Nurse Practitioner license, DEA registration, and PMHNP-BC certification are required.

Responsibilities as the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner:
- Psychiatric Evaluations: Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose and determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Medication Management: Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications while monitoring effectiveness and side effects.
- Treatment Planning: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with care teams.
- Patient Care & Follow-Up: Provide ongoing care, including medication adjustments and clinical monitoring for youth and adult populations.
- Clinical Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EMR systems in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Education: Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP) with a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specialization is required.
- Licensure: Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the State of New York is required, along with DEA registration and prescriptive authority.
- Certification: PMHNP-BC certification required, with active malpractice insurance and Medicaid certification required.
- Experience: 1+ year of experience in psychiatric or behavioral health settings is required, with experience treating pediatric and adolescent populations preferred.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of psychiatric disorders, psychopharmacology, and evidence-based treatment practices is required.
- Technical Skills: Experience with EMR systems and electronic prescribing platforms is required.
- Skills & Attributes: Demonstrates strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
