Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Location: Salem, OR 97301
Schedule: Standard Shift 8am -5pm
Duration: 3+ Months (Potential for Long-Term)
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as a clinical leader within the OSH Interdisciplinary Treatment Team.
• Provide psychiatric and medical care for patients assigned to the unit.
• Conduct psychiatric, physical, and neurological examinations.
• Develop and implement patient diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Write and manage patient care orders.
• Lead Treatment Team meetings to develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide clinical guidance and recommendations to service teams implementing treatment plans.
• Collaborate with the Unit Director to support a therapeutic treatment environment.
• Deliver direct patient care, including group and individual counseling sessions.
• Maintain complete and compliant medical documentation in accordance with hospital policies.
• Prepare evaluation reports and communications for administration and legal authorities.
• Participate in medical committees, peer review, and quality improvement programs.
• Assist with staff training and professional development initiatives.
• Maintain CPR certification and attend required medical staff meetings.
• Lead or support specialized therapy programs such as aggression management, coping skills training, and psycho-educational group sessions.
• Prepare clinical documentation, including progress notes, discharge summaries, and treatment outcome reports.
• Participate in program development, policy improvements, and research initiatives.
• Serve as an expert witness when required and provide professional testimony in legal proceedings.
• PMHNP
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) Certification.
