Position Overview

A college counseling center is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide behavioral health services primarily via telehealth. The provider will deliver psychiatric evaluation and medication management services for students while collaborating with counseling center leadership to coordinate care.

This is a flexible, low-volume role ideal for a clinician seeking supplemental part-time work.

Schedule & Coverage

  • Position Type: Part-Time Contractor

  • Typical Utilization: 2–3 days per month

  • Core Hours (reference): Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Additional Needs: Occasional off-hours telehealth consultations as needed

  • Schedule Creation: Coordinated directly with the Director of the Counseling Center based on student demand

Work Setting

  • Primarily remote via secure teleconference and telephone

  • May be asked to come onsite occasionally as directed

  • Visitor parking provided for onsite visits

Key Responsibilities

  • Psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments

  • Medication management and follow-up care

  • Treatment planning and documentation

  • Collaboration with counseling center staff

  • Provide consultation for urgent behavioral health concerns when requested

Minimum Requirements

  • Active New York State RN and Nurse Practitioner License

  • Clinical Nurse Specialist Certification in Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health (ANCC or equivalent)

  • Active DEA License

  • Minimum 3 years verifiable psychiatric NP experience

Ideal Candidate

  • Comfortable providing telepsychiatry services

  • Strong communication and assessment skills

  • Able to work independently in a consultative role

  • Experience working with young adult or college populations preferred
