FHCSD is currently seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Oceanside Family Counseling Center. This location was one of our first standalone mental health facilities in San Diego, and our first in North County. We offer a wide range of care including case management, individual therapy, couples counseling, family care, psychological testing, psychiatry, SUD, and medication assisted treatment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Completing full intake mental health evaluations
  • Order of diagnostic procedures/labs/medical supplies
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic health/mental health care problems
  • Develop and implement effective care plan based on patient needs
  • Prescribe and manage medication when appropriate
  • Make appropriate consultations on specialty areas
  • Ensure that immunizations and medical records are current as required or needed
  • Maintains satisfactory peer reviews
  • Complete all required documentation in accordance with departmental standards
  • Comply with electronic medical record requirements and participate in clinic pool
  • Meet clinic site and organization needs in a reliable and flexible manner
  • Participates in administrative duties and Clinical Outcomes Program and
  • Work towards meeting organizational targets for all metrics
  • Assesses and intervenes for urgent and/or emergent mental health problems
  • Provide nurse practitioner support and consultation to other outpatient clinics
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience working in an outpatient mental health setting
  • Current Nurse Practitioner Certification and Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Permit required
  • Current unrestricted license to practice in the State of California or ability to obtain
  • DEA license
  • Current American Heart Association health care provider CPR (BLS), or Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, or Advance Resuscitation Training
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) capabilities desired
  • Cultural and linguistic sensitivity to populations served required
  • Experience with underserved, low-income, or homeless community members preferred
  • Ability and means to travel as needed in a timely manner within San Diego County

We are excited to share that the salary range for this position is:

$155,000 - $185,000
