Job description Job Overview – Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Part-Time)
Compensation: $100/hour
Location: Queens, NY
Schedule: 3 days/week, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM


TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in Queens, NY for our client, supporting outpatient behavioral health services through psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and evidence-based treatment planning. This part-time role focuses on delivering patient-centered mental health care, wellness education, and collaborative treatment within an interdisciplinary behavioral health setting serving individuals and families.

Responsibilities as the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner:
  • Clinical Care: Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, prescribe and manage medications including MAT, and monitor patient outcomes.
  • Medication Management: Adjust treatment regimens, educate patients on medication use, and support wellness-focused care plans.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Coordinate care with psychiatrists and the broader treatment team to ensure timely referrals and continuity of care.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Complete treatment plans and clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory, agency, and quality standards.
  • Crisis Support: Provide crisis intervention, ongoing health monitoring, and appropriate follow-up care for patients as needed.
Qualifications for the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner:
  • Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent required.
  • Licensure: Valid New York State Nurse Practitioner License and registration.
  • Certifications: Holds current CPR (BLS) and First Aid certifications, DEA registration, and ANCC Certification, with MAT certification required within 6 months of employment.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year as a Nurse Practitioner with experience in prescribing suboxone and supporting mental health or substance use programs.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR), preferably Netsmart myEvolv, and statistical software.
  • Attributes: Strong oral and written communication skills, crisis intervention capabilities, and teamwork proficiency.
  • Language Skills: Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
