We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our Wilmington team. In this role, you will provide psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and collaborate closely with our therapy team to deliver integrated mental health care. You will help ensure clients receive comprehensive, timely, and compassionate care while supporting the growth and clinical excellence of our practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations

  • Manage and monitor psychotropic medications, adjusting treatment plans as needed to optimize outcomes.

  • Collaborate with therapists, case managers, and other staff to coordinate care, review treatment progress, and ensure continuity of services.

  • Provide medication education and consultation to clients and their families when appropriate.

  • Attend and contribute to clinical team meetings, case consultations, and treatment planning sessions.

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including progress notes, medication logs, and treatment plans.

  • Adhere to ethical, legal, and regulatory standards of psychiatric practice, upholding boundaries and professional conduct.

  • Support quality improvement and practice development initiatives, including participation in service refinement, practice policies, and training efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Current, active licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) with a certification in Psychiatric–Mental Health (PMHNP-BC).

  • Valid and unrestricted license to practice in North Carolina.

  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a PMHNP in outpatient behavioral health or related settings.

  • Possess and maintain a valid Drug Enforcement Administration (“DEA”) number and all other licenses and certificates that may be lawfully required to prescribe dangerous drugs and controlled substances

  • Strong competency in psychopharmacology, diagnostics, and collaborative care models.

    Excellent communication skills, with experience and the ability to work effectively across interdisciplinary teams.

  • Commitment to culturally responsive care, inclusion, and continuous professional development.

  • Familiarity with EMR/clinical documentation systems and telehealth platforms.
