Job description Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner / Psychiatric Physician Assistant – Post-Acute Care

This opportunity is ideal for a PMHNP or psychiatric physician assistant who values autonomy, flexibility, and the support of a well-established behavioral health organization.
This role allows you to practice independently while focusing on high-quality patient care—without the constraints of traditional outpatient or hospital-based models.

Monday–Friday schedule with flexible start times

“Round-and-go” model with no time clock or minimum hourly requirements

Typically one facility per day

Autonomous practice with freedom to structure patient visits efficiently

Fee-for-service compensation model with uncapped productivity potential

Estimated annual earnings range of $144,982–$171,978

What You’ll Do

Provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and behavioral health support in skilled nursing and post-acute settings

Manage care across multiple facilities with a structured, predictable workflow

Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop individualized treatment plans

Deliver ongoing follow-up care to support emotional and psychological well-being

What We’re Looking For

Active and unrestricted PMHNP or psychiatric PA license in the practicing state

Ability to practice and bill independently

Active DEA registration

Strong clinical judgment, documentation, and communication skills

Genuine interest in behavioral health care for post-acute and long-term care populations

Clinical & Operational Support
