Inpatient & Outpatient Behavioral Health | Addiction Treatment Focus
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide psychiatric services in a part-time capacity across inpatient and outpatient behavioral health settings, including programs focused on opioid use disorder and substance use treatment. This role offers a highly flexible schedule and the opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary treatment team delivering evidence-based psychiatric care.
This position requires approximately 10 hours per week, split across two days. Services may be provided across up to three program locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management for patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Diagnose and treat a full range of psychiatric and substance use disorders, with a strong focus on opioid use disorder.
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, nurses, and case management staff to ensure integrated, coordinated care.
- Provide crisis assessment and stabilization support as needed.
- Monitor patient progress, response to treatment, and medication adherence.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning and case consultations.
- Support continuity of care through appropriate referrals, transitions, and coordination with community providers.
- Uphold all regulatory, ethical, and organizational standards of psychiatric care.
Schedule & Coverage
- Part-Time: Approximately 10 hours per week
- Schedule: Two flexible days per week (open to any weekday)
- Setting: Combination of inpatient and outpatient behavioral health
Required Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in New York State.
- Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
- Experience treating individuals with substance use disorders, including opioid addiction, strongly preferred.
- Comfort working across both inpatient and outpatient care environments.
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary care team.
