Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Part-Time)
Location: Liberty, NY
Schedule: 5 hours/day, 4 days per week (Mon–Fri)
Setting: Outpatient
Specialty: Psychiatric / Child & Adolescent

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive psychiatric services for youth in an outpatient community-based program. This role focuses on psychiatric assessment, evaluation, treatment planning, psychopharmacology, and ongoing collaboration with an interdisciplinary care team. The NP will also provide education and training to families and staff to support safe and effective medication management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychiatric and medical assessments; diagnose and treat according to clinical standards

  • Prescribe, monitor, and manage psychotropic medications for youth ages 10–21

  • Participate in treatment planning with an interdisciplinary team

  • Educate and train team members on psychiatric conditions, medication side effects, and treatment approaches

  • Provide consultation and support to families regarding medication use

  • Attend team meetings and contribute to collaborative care

  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record

  • Adhere to all New York State practice standards and regulatory requirements

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) with Psychiatric/Mental Health NP certification

  • Active New York State NP license and DEA license

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Psychiatric NP

  • Experience prescribing for children and adolescents with multiple diagnoses

  • Proficiency in psychopharmacology and psychiatric evaluations

  • Ability to use electronic health records

  • Valid driver’s license and insurability

Schedule & Workload:

  • Daytime schedule, flexible

  • No weekends or on-call

  • Caseload: Program serves up to 28 youth

Compensation:

  • $90–$95 per hour
