Overview:
St. Mary’s Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our growing Outpatient Behavioral Health team in Amsterdam, NY. This full-time, hospital-employed position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality psychiatric care including diagnostic evaluations, medication management, and treatment planning to adult patients in an outpatient setting.
As part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, therapists, and support staff, you will help deliver patient-centered mental health services that promote stability, resilience, and long-term wellness. Position Highlights:
- Full-time, hospital-employed outpatient position.
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments and medication management

Compensation & Benefits:
- Base Salary Range - $110,000 - $135,000 (commensurate with experience)

Job Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing medication management, monitoring therapeutic response and side effects
- Deliver care through both in-person and telehealth visits as clinically appropriate
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with state and federal requirements
- Collaborate with behavioral health providers, primary care, and community partners to ensure coordinated care
- Participate in case conferences, quality initiatives, and team-based discussions
- Provide patient and family education on diagnosis, treatment plans, and wellness strategies
- Initiate referrals to additional medical or mental health providers as needed
Qualifications
Preferred Experience – Outpatient psychiatric experience preferred but not required
Skills
- Experience with medication management, crisis intervention, and patient-centered care.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
