We are seeking a full-time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join a Residential Treatment Center in the Norfolk, Virginia area. • Schedule / Hours: Monday–Friday (day schedule)
• Call: As needed for emergencies/crisis situations
• Patient Volume: Residential C/A population (male and female)
• Location: Norfolk, VA area
• Practice Setting: Residential Treatment Center
• Support / Care Team: Psychiatrist, psychiatric physicians, nursing staff, therapists, and clinical support team
Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive psychiatric care to child and adolescent residential patients
• Conduct psychiatric admitting evaluations and History & Physical examinations
• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and interdisciplinary care team
• Perform psychiatric rounding and assist with weekly medication management
• Communicate treatment updates with families
• Participate in utilization reviews with insurance providers
• Provide discharge planning, medication prescriptions, and crisis intervention as needed
• Document care thoroughly and accurately

Qualifications
• Board Certified PMHNP (ANCC)
• Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
• Active or eligible Virginia APRN license
• Current DEA certification
