The Psychiatric Stabilization Unit (PSU) is a psychiatric observation unit. PSU Nurse Practitioners (NPs) provide psychiatric emergent assessments in the Emergency Department (ED) and disposition for admission to the inpatient psychiatric units, PSU, or potential discharge from ED.
PSU NPs may admit to the observation unit (PSU) and are responsible for the care of patients in that environment. Typical volume ranges from 4 - 8 adult patients. Currently, the observation area is paused.
Our need for a Psychiatric NP for PSU coverage is Monday nights from 7p-7a. Will also need intermittent coverage for vacation and sick call on any shifts. Shifts are 7 days per week, 7a-7p or 7p-7a. No call required.
