Spectrum Healthcare Resources presents a compelling opportunity for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to serve as a civilian healthcare professional supporting Jacksonville Naval Air Base in Jacksonville, Florida. The position will be situated at the Marine Corps Security Force Battalion in Kings Bay, GA.

Job Requirements:

  • Possession of a valid State Nurse Practitioner License
  • DEA License
  • Minimum of two years of experience in conducting group and family therapy
  • Completion of Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner training

Duties:

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner's scope of practice will involve:

  • Addressing mental health concerns through prevention and promotion activities
  • Intervening when emotional or mental health issues arise
  • Stabilizing individuals at their optimal level of functioning
  • Providing specialized care to emotionally distressed individuals, both inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Offering consultation within the broader hospital community
  • Conducting patient counseling, crisis intervention, medication management, milieu therapy, group therapy, and critical incident debriefings
  • Serving as an expert educator, advisor, and consultant on mental health matters to department chiefs and staff
  • Coordinating outpatient psychiatric care within the behavioral health care service line
  • Engaging in medical research on diseases of military importance
  • Supervising and participating in graduate medical education and training for other medical personnel, contributing to the overall robustness of the medical system.
