Last Update: 5/31/24

An outpatient addiction program is seeking a psychiatric nurse practitioner for locum tenens coverage.
As much as you've heard about New York City there are still constantly changing things to do. Everywhere you look, you can find little coffee shops to stop in or bars to have a drink at after work! Take some time at Central Park to take in the sites while on assignment. There are tours for everything in the city so be sure to research what you want to do before heading to the city that never sleeps.
The clinician must have addiction and geriatric mental health experience to treat ages 60+, as well as, trauma-informed. The clinician must be able to prescribe Buprenorphine/Suboxone for up to 30 clients. Patients voluntarily come to the clinic and engagement in psychiatric care is voluntary. The Psych NP will manage psychiatric medications and work with an interdisciplinary team to provide care for the patients. Experience managing methadone dosing is not necessary but willingness to learn to manage methadone is necessary. Occasional management of methadone treatment may be required once the clinician has gained adequate knowledge. Patients are treated with dignity and compassion as they receive individualized medical care, counseling, and supportive services that help to improve their quality of life and promote self-sufficiency and connections within the community.
