Seeking a Psychiatrist NP to provide locum coverage at a facility located in Roanoke, VA. The ideal candidate should have experience working with the adult & geriatric IP population.

Requirements:
• Active VA license & DEA
• BC/BE
• BLS/ACLS Certifications
• AMA/ECFMG number
Responsibilities:
• Make specific recommendations for further evaluation, medication, psychological services, environmental change & hospitalization.
• Must have the ability to perform physical assessments if needed.
• Make provisional recommendations for treatments, & prescriptions.
• Be willing to provide cross coverage to other units, if needed.
• Be responsible for involuntary commitment hearings and court-related activities as necessary, in consultation with the facility.
• Confer with the facility psychological, medical, counseling & security staff during time not used in evaluation & treatment of individuals.
• Have the ability to work independently & within a multidisciplinary treatment team.
