Job Summary:

We are seeking a well-trained Nurse Practitioner to join the Department of Psychiatry of Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth) in the Department’s inpatient psychiatry division at WMCHealth’s Behavioral Health Center in Valhalla, New York. The ideal candidate will have a track record of clinical accomplishments in the treatment of patients with serious mental illness, and will provide services to adults, including triage, diagnostic evaluations, follow-up care, prescribing, and individual counseling and group treatment as part of a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities also include reviewing patients' medication records to determine the appropriateness of the existing medication regimen.

This is an employed position through WMC Advanced Physician Services, which is a subsidiary professional corporation of WMCHealth. Benefits are comprehensive and include (minimum work hours apply):

Qualifications / Requirements:

Applicants must have a Master's degree in Nursing, Nurse Practitioner certification in Psychiatry, and a valid New York State license as a Nurse Practitioner.

The WMCHealth Behavioral Health Center (BHC) is a freestanding facility operating a 97-bed inpatient psychiatric program for children, adolescents and adults as well as comprehensive outpatient mental health services. In addition to receiving patients directly from WMC’s Emergency Medical Services Department, BHC is also a major transfer center for patients requiring psychiatric hospitalization from across the Lower Hudson Valley.

WMC Advanced Physician Services PC (APS) employs doctors and mid-level clinicians working in WMCHealth’s hospital-based and community-based clinical programs including at Mid-Hudson Regional.
