Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic Nurse Practitioner to join the WMCHealth Behavioral Health team at HealthAlliance Hospital in Kingston, New York. The successful candidate must be Board Certified as a Nurse Practitioner appropriately credentialed to work in Psychiatry, with two or more years’ experience preferred. Candidates must possess or be able to obtain a NYS License. This is an employed position in our academic physician group with comprehensive benefits, CME, and malpractice coverage. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating individuals presenting with a broad range of psychiatric disorders in the emergency room, and in medical-surgical and outpatient settings. Incumbent will provide education, review appropriateness of the existing medication regimens through review of the medication record and initiate medication and psychotherapeutic intervention where appropriate. The Nurse Practitioner will work collaboratively with the Psychiatrist and multidisciplinary treatment team to conduct psychiatric and substance use disorder evaluations and determine appropriate level of care decisions. In addition, they participate in clinical updates, health monitoring, smoking cessation, and crisis intervention as needed and required by regulations.
