Job Title: Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant

Location: Tucson, AZ

Hours & Schedule: Full-time, four 10-hour shifts per week (no weekends)

Work Environment: Interventional pain management clinical setting

Salary / Hourly Rate: $120,000 – $160,000 annually, based on experience

Job Summary:

The Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant provides comprehensive pain management care through patient evaluation, treatment planning, procedures, and follow-up. This role works closely with a multidisciplinary clinical team to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. The position plays a vital role in improving patient outcomes and quality of life.



Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and document comprehensive patient histories
  • Perform thorough physical examinations and clinical assessments
  • Develop diagnostic impressions and individualized treatment plans
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, laboratory studies, and imaging
  • Monitor and evaluate treatment effectiveness and patient progress
  • Provide patient education, counseling, and care coordination
  • Initiate and manage referrals to specialists as appropriate
  • Address patient non-compliance and manage discharges when necessary
  • Perform and/or administer trigger point injections, joint injections, and occipital nerve blocks
  • Perform procedures with or without ultrasound guidance
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the EMR
  • Review radiology reports, laboratory results, and monthly PMP reports
  • Manage medication refill requests and incoming authorization faxes
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA, FDA, and HIPAA standards



Prerequisites / License & Certification Requirements:

  • Certified Nurse Practitioner (Family or Adult) or Certified Physician Assistant
  • Board-certified FNP or ANP or NCCPA-certified Physician Assistant
  • Active, unrestricted Arizona NP or PA license
  • Current and unrestricted DEA license
  • Current ACLS and BLS (or BCLS) certification
  • Strong EMR and computer proficiency
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
  • Pain management or interventional experience preferred but not required
