Cardiothoracic Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) Opportunity in NW Georgia with AdventHealth

Full-time APP opportunity to join a collaborative and highly respected Cardiothoracic group in Beautiful Rome GA!

Qualifications:

• Current License (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse / Physician Assistant)
• Current ACLS certification
• Minimum of two years relevant APP experience in cardiovascular/thoracic surgery is desired. One year of relevant APP experience in the critical care setting also is strongly desired

Position Requires:

• Evidence of knowledge and skill in applying principles of sterile technique in a surgical setting and infection control
• Knowledge and skill in surgical anatomy, physiology, operative procedures, and perioperative care
• Well-balanced and developed clinical assessment skills
• Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
• Ability to perform effectively in stressful and emergency situations
• Excellent communication with all members of the care team as well as patients, families, and members of the community from diverse backgrounds
• Ability to work independently, under the direct supervision and guidance of the supervising physician

Responsibilities

• Full perioperative scope of practice
• Shared floor responsibilities (Rounds)
  * Consults, Discharges, Clinic follow-up
• Outpatient care coordination as needed
• Takes complex medical histories on patients referred for consultation by academic and community physicians
• Performs physical examinations
• Orders laboratory tests, x-rays, special imaging studies and other diagnostic procedures
• Reaches tentative diagnosis of medical, surgical and other conditions
• Develops treatment plans in conjunction with attending physician to provide optimal patient medical management
• Maintain a professional behavior in attitudes, demeanor, and interactions to achieve organization's mission
• Is approachable and professional in working with other health professionals, patients and their family
