Position Summary:

The Certified Nurse Practitioner provides direct medical care and treatment for patients enrolled in clinical research protocols. This includes patient assessment, treatment coordination, and documentation in compliance with institutional and protocol standards.

Key Responsibilities:
• Prescribe and recommend medications or treatments under physician guidance.
• Initiate and coordinate patient visits, lab procedures, drug orders, consultations, and treatments per clinical needs or research protocols.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions or toxicities and adjust treatments under physician guidance.
• Administer and adjust trial medications as directed.
• Document and monitor side effects related to study interventions, including drugs and psychological behaviors.
• Monitor patient compliance with medications and document missed doses.
• Obtain comprehensive medical histories, perform physical examinations, and conduct follow-up evaluations.
• Review patient charts and analyze trends in clinical data collected through interviews and assessments.
• Perform preliminary screening of potential subjects, including medical record review and safety screening.
• Communicate with patients’ healthcare providers and institutions for release of medical records or diagnostic materials.
• Conduct complex physical examinations and medical assessments for patients with multi-system diseases.
• Enter clinical data and medical chart entries using standard electronic systems.
• Participate in patient rounds, protocol meetings, and research group discussions regarding patient care and inclusion in studies.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic studies in collaboration with the research team.
• Provide patient and caregiver education on procedures, treatment plans, and health maintenance.
• Ensure proper illness and injury care, disease prevention, and clinical treatment.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of procedures, tests, and patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary research team to support patient care and research objectives.

Qualifications:
• Graduate-level nursing degree (NP or equivalent).
• Current national and state licensure for nurse practitioners.
• Certification in Good Clinical Practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other standard clinical software.
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and documentation skills.
