Salary Range: $240,000–$275,000 + Benefits
Requirements to apply:
- Active Kentucky RN license or compact RN license with Kentucky privileges
- Master’s degree in Nursing, Administration, Education, or other leadership field (required); PhD or DNP (preferred)
- 7+ years of progressive nursing leadership experience
- Acute care clinical background, preferably in an academic medical center
- National nursing certification (must be obtained within one year of hire)

Job Overview:
This executive-level leadership role oversees all inpatient and outpatient nursing services across the health system. The Chief Nurse Executive (CNE) ensures top-tier patient care, regulatory compliance, workforce development, and strategic alignment with the organization's mission. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CNE plays a critical role in shaping clinical excellence, leading quality and safety initiatives, and mentoring the next generation of nurse leaders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Executive oversight of nursing operations, clinical redesign, and patient experience
- Budgeting, resource management, and operational performance
- Compliance with federal, state, and accrediting standards
- Strategic talent acquisition and leadership development across nursing units
- Collaboration with external partners and community health engagement
- Fostering a culture of service excellence and professional growth
