Locums – Buffalo, Minnesota Nurse Practitioner Orthopedics Job

Contract Length

• 6–8 months

Schedule

• Monday–Friday
• OR: Monday/Tuesday/Thursday
• Clinic: Wednesday
• Administrative: Friday
• 7:00 AM–4:30 PM
• Morning rounding and occasional weekend rounding

Practice Setting

• Hospital and clinic
• Hospital bed size: 34 beds

Support Staff

• 1 clinical support staff member on clinic days

Patient Volume

• 20–25 patients per clinic day

Patient Population

• Orthopedic patients, primarily teenagers and adults
• No age restriction

EMR

• Epic Excellian

Procedures & Skills

• First assist in the OR for:
  • Total joint replacements
  • Fracture repairs
  • Foot/ankle procedures
  • Shoulder procedures
  • Knee procedures
  • Hip procedures
  • Hand/wrist procedures
  • General orthopedics
• OR assisting
• Clinic experience
• Casting/splinting
• DME application
• Joint injections

Requirements

• Nurse Practitioner
• Minnesota NP license
• Minnesota Board of Nursing required upon hire
• DEA
• CSR
• BLS Tier 1 – Basic Life Support; multisource required within 180 days
• ANCC certification or equivalent specialty certification required upon hire
• 1+ year of experience
• 1+ year of OR experience required
• Prior orthopedic/sports medicine experience preferred
