Job description
A hospital on Oregon’s South Coast is seeking a Board-Certified NP in Orthopedics for full-time locum coverage. This role includes collaborating with orthopedic surgeons to deliver high-quality patient care across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings. The position requires weekdays, nights, and weekend call coverage, assisting in surgeries, performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and managing orthopedic emergencies.
Job Responsibilities
• Assist in surgeries including first assist, tissue closures, and appliance application.
• Perform orthopedic procedures such as joint/bursa aspirations, fracture reductions, injections, minor surgical procedures, wound care, and cast/brace applications.
• Serve as primary orthopedic call for ED and inpatient units, including weekday, weekend, holiday, and night rotations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, respond to emergent cases, and maintain quality and safety standards.
Qualifications
• Active Oregon License – Required
• NPDB self-query and CAQH credentials – Required at time of offer
• Ability to work independently in high-pressure or emergent situations
• Experience in orthopedic procedures preferred
Working Hours
• Orientation: 4 hours of unpaid EPIC training (testing out possible in 2 hours)
• Start Date: ASAP
• Credentialing timeframe: Minimum 60 days
