Join our team as an Advanced Practice Practitioner. In this role you will:

  • Assume responsibility and accountability for rapid assessment, nursing diagnosis and works with MD partners to assure safe patient diagnostic testing and optimal plan of care.
  • Perform advanced practice procedures.
  • Utilize the nursing process to promote/restore optimal health and well-being of the patient.

Advanced Practice Practitioner
Spine Center of Excellence Hospital Based

This position is Monday through Friday with No Call Required!

  • Maintains repour with surgeons
  • Weekly check ins with each Orthopedic Group/surgeon
  • Primary contact for any Orthopedic-related question within the hospital
  • Present at Grand Rounds each day to answer any OSL questions/patient questions which may arise.
  • Runs the Orthopedic Service Line phone
  • Created all pre/post-op education for Total Hip/Knee/Shoulder patients, both: online videos, in-person classes
  • Participates in monthly specialty calls, including, Trauma Committee, Infection Prevention, Department of Surgery
  • Responsible for Orthopedic Education to the 4N Med/Surg nurses
  • Currently providing a monthly education video on different topics they have requested to learn more about
  • On-site presence and teaching
  • Tracking surgery times, readmission rates, cost, productivity

Qualifications

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified Advanced Practice Practitioners will need the following:

  • 1 year of experience in a clinical or advance practice setting, preferred
  • Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing as Nurse Practitioner, from a nationally accredited postgraduate certificate program required. Must be a graduate from an Accredited School of Nursing.
  • Graduate from an Accredited School Of Nursing required
  • Registered Nurse Practitioner Licensure for; and listed on the state Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) Registry required. Board certified as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, in applicable population foci and/or sub-specialty.
  • RN License required
  • BLS from the American Heart Association may be required depending on practice setting
  • ACLS from the American Heart Association may be required depending on practice setting
  • Have Prescriptive Authority (RXN) or have Provisional Prescriptive Authority (RXN-P), if applicable for role with associated articulated plan.
