ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide locum coverage in medical oncology, supporting both outpatient and inpatient oncology services. The role includes managing benign hematology and malignant oncology patients, with occasional call responsibilities and weekend inpatient rounding. Providers will work alongside a multidisciplinary team and use EPIC for documentation.

Dates / Schedule

• Coverage Dates: February 1, 2026 – September 30, 2026

• Reason for Coverage: Provider departure

• Call Schedule:

  • First call for patient/hospital phone calls:

    • Tuesday: 4:30 p.m. – 8:00 a.m.

    • Friday–Monday: 4:30 p.m. – 8:00 a.m.

  • On-site weekend rounds: Saturday & Sunday

• Call Rotation: Every 5–6 weeks (varies based on staffing)

• Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: ~60 days

Job Details & Responsibilities

• Practice Setting: Free-standing cancer center

• Patient Population: Adult & geriatric

• Case Mix:

  • 65% benign hematology

  • 35% malignant oncology

  • 0% internal medicine

• Team Structure:

  • 8 physicians

  • 4 APPs

• Patient Volumes:

  • Outpatient: ~15/day

  • Inpatient (call/rounding): ~20/day

• Clinical Areas: Outpatient oncology and inpatient oncology

• EMR: EPIC

• Required Duties:

  • Manage bone marrow transplant patients

  • Blood bank responsibilities

  • Order tests and imaging

  • Prescribe medications

  • Chemotherapy administered by oncology nursing staff
    

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Board Certification: Hematology & Oncology (required)

• Licensure: Active South Carolina NP license (or willingness to obtain)

• Certifications: BLS, DEA
