Pay: $105.00-115.00 per hour
Assignment Length:
- Initial 8-month contract
- Potential to extend
Start Date: February 1, 2026
Openings: 1
Details:
- Outpatient clinic coverage
- Monday-Friday, 8:30a-4:30p
- Inpatient call coverage
- 1:5 rotating call coverage
- Patient and hospital phone calls
- Tuesday 4:30p-8:00a
- Friday 4:30p-Monday 8:00a
- On-site rounding Saturday and Sunday
- 65% benign Hematology, 35% malignant Oncology
- Adult patient population
- Practice includes 8 Physicians and 4 APPs
- EMR: EPIC
- Credentialing: 60 days
Requirements:
- Active South Carolina licensure
- Board certification
- AHA BLS certification
- Minimum 1-year Medical Oncology experience
Job Responsibilities
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
Order and interpret diagnostic tests
Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices.
Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
Qualifications
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics)
Licenses & Certifications:
Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in South Carolina
National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP])
Experience:
While specific requirements may vary, most locum APP positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty
Skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients
Proficiency in performing physical examinations and procedures relevant to their specialty
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to diagnose and manage complex medical conditions
Time management skills to efficiently manage a patient workload
Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a healthcare team
