We are seeking a Gynecological Oncology Nurse Practitioner for a 16-day locum tenens assignment in New York. This opportunity starts Jan 2, 2026, with orientation on the first day and clinical work beginning Jan 5, 2026. The schedule consists of four shifts per week, Monday through Friday, with day shifts from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. This role is ideal for an experienced nurse practitioner with competency in administering chemotherapy and biotherapy, as well as expertise in women's health and gynecologic oncology.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Perform history and physical exams, including pelvic exams as indicated
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and therapeutic modalities within specialty scope and documented training
- Administer and prescribe chemotherapy and biotherapy (must demonstrate recent competency with at least 10 administrations in the past 12 months)
- Implement therapeutic interventions for women’s health conditions, including gynecologic oncology cases
- Conduct arterial puncture and blood gas sampling
- Provide care for superficial wounds, perform debridement, and minor surgical procedures
- Perform incision and drainage of superficial abscesses
- Insert and remove non-weighted nasogastric or oro-gastric tubes
- Assess antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients in both complicated and uncomplicated scenarios
- Conduct colposcopies with or without biopsies
- Evaluate and treat common vaginal infections
- Interpret fetal heart monitor tracings
- Insert and remove intrauterine devices (IUDs) and subcutaneous birth control devices
- Initiate pharmacologic therapy for general gynecologic and obstetric health needs
- Perform endometrial, vaginal, and vulvar biopsies
- Screen and refer for high-risk pregnancies, pregnancy complications, postpartum complications, and suspected cases of sexual abuse or rape
Additional Information
- Must hold an active New York nurse practitioner license
- Required to have one of the following certifications: Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGACNP-BC), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGPCNP-BC), Adult Nurse Practitioner Certification (ANP-BC), or Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP)
- Must have current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certifications
- Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) credentials required if applicable to background experience
- Experience in women's health and gynecologic oncology strongly preferred
