Job Details

Responsibilities and Duties
- Assess, diagnose, monitor, and manage patient conditions within the scope of Radiation Oncology and area specialty practice
- Perform history and physical exams, including pelvic exams as appropriate
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and therapeutic modalities, limited to procedures with documented training and experience
- Implement therapeutic interventions specific to patient conditions as indicated
- Conduct arterial punctures and blood gas sampling
- Provide care for superficial wounds, including debridement and minor superficial surgical procedures
- Perform incision and drainage of superficial abscesses
- Insert and remove non-weighted nasogastric or oro-gastric tubes
- Complete Death Certificate Protocols
- Remove central venous catheters
- Provide care to adult and geriatric patients, including those in intensive care settings, in accordance with unit policies
Additional Information
- Active New York NP license required
- Required board certifications: Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGACNP-BC), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGPCNP-BC), Adult Nurse Practitioner Certification (ANP-BC), Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP)
- Required certifications: Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
- Nurse Practitioners may not serve as admitting providers
