Job description

Job description We are seeking a Radiation Oncology Nurse Practitioner for a 20-day locum tenens assignment in New York, starting Jan 2, 2026. This role features day shifts from 8:00am to 6:00pm, Monday through Friday. The selected provider will support radiation oncology services and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care.

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-6:00pm

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Assess, diagnose, and monitor patients within the radiation oncology specialty
  • Promote health and protection from disease for patients in the designated age group per NYS NP certification
  • Perform history and physical exams, including pelvic exams where appropriate
  • Order and interpret diagnostic testing and therapeutic modalities within specialty and documented training
  • Implement therapeutic interventions for specific conditions as appropriate
  • Perform arterial puncture and blood gas sampling
  • Provide debridement and general care for superficial wounds and minor surgical procedures
  • Perform incision and drainage of superficial abscesses
  • Insert and remove non-weighted nasogastric or oro-gastric tubes
  • Complete death certificate protocols
  • Remove central venous catheters
  • Provide care to patients in the intensive care setting per unit policies

Additional Information
  • Must hold current NY license and appropriate NP certification (Adult-Gerontology Acute Care, Adult-Gerontology Primary Care, Adult, or Family NP Certification)
  • Required certifications: ARC-PA, ACLS, BCLS
  • Orientation on Jan 2, 2026; clinical work begins Jan 5, 2026
  • Nurse Practitioners may not serve as admitting providers
