Job Details

Responsibilities and Duties
- Assess, diagnose, monitor, and manage patients within the designated specialty and age group per NYS NP certification
- Perform history and physical exams, including pelvic exams when appropriate
- Order and interpret diagnostic testing and therapeutic modalities consistent with specialty practice
- Implement therapeutic interventions for specific conditions as appropriate
- Administer and prescribe chemotherapy/biotherapy, with documented competency in at least 10 administrations within the past 12 months
- Provide ambulatory therapeutic infusion care
- Perform arterial puncture and blood gas sampling
- Debride and provide care for superficial wounds and minor superficial surgical procedures
- Perform incision and drainage of superficial abscesses
- Insert and remove non-weighted nasogastric or oro-gastric tubes
Additional Information
- Must hold an active New York Nurse Practitioner license with specialty certification in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care, Adult-Gerontology Primary Care, Adult Nurse Practitioner, or Family Nurse Practitioner
- Required certifications: Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
- Demonstrated competence in chemotherapy/biotherapy administration required
