Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Care:
- Conduct pre-operative assessments and post-operative follow-ups.
- Perform daily inpatient rounds, write orders, and manage discharge planning.
- Assist in outpatient clinics for cancer surveillance and follow-up.
- First assist in surgical procedures.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with surgeons.
- Provide patient education regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and recovery.
Coordination & Communication:
- Act as a liaison between patients, families, nursing staff, and physicians.
- Facilitate referrals to other specialties and community resources.
- Participate in tumor boards and multidisciplinary care meetings.
Documentation & Compliance:
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record, Epic.
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Nursing (NP) or Physician Assistant Studies
- Current Indiana state licensure as NP or PA
- Certification in surgical or oncology specialty preferred (e.g., AOCNP)
- BLS/ACLS certification
- DEA license
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in oncology or surgical care preferred

- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Familiarity with Epic and clinical documentation standards.
