Job description Occupational Medicine NP/PA Needed – California Central Coast Region
Start Date: February 2026
Contract Length: 13 weeks; potential ongoing need

Schedule

Full-time scheduled clinical hours
Monday–Friday, 8:00a–6:00p
Standard 8-hour clinical schedule within a 10-hour operating day
No call


Practice Details

Outpatient occupational medicine clinic
Employer-based injury care and workplace health services
Support staff on site
EMR utilized (varies by location)


Clinical Scope

Evaluate and treat occupational medicine patients
Injury care, follow-ups, return-to-work assessments
Complete all documentation by end of shift
Work collaboratively with clinical leadership to maintain standards of care
Communicate with employer representatives after injuries or status changes
Provide guidance to clinical team in supervising physician’s absence
Ensure compliance with California state practice laws and Workers’ Compensation regulations
Participate in operational workflows, quality initiatives, and center improvements
Maintain high-quality patient communication and service standards
Efficiently manage documentation, coding, and charge capture


Requirements

Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – Occupational Medicine
Graduate of an accredited NP/PA program
Active California license required
DEA required
BLS and AED required (ACLS preferred)
NRCME (DOT Medical Examiner) certification required
Occ Med, urgent care, or emergency medicine experience preferred
New grads welcome
Strong communication, decision-making, and patient-centered skills
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
Familiarity with EMR systems and medical office workflows


Credentialing

Timeline varies
Submittal must include NPI, license details, and expiration dates


Location
Located in the California Central Coast Region, providing Monday–Friday outpatient occupational medicine services with a consistent daytime schedule and a strong focus on workplace injury management, employer communication, and patient care.
